Laws for Landlords in Alberta

If you are a landlord (or becoming a landlord) in Alberta, there are laws that you need to know. These laws govern the relationship between you and your tenants.

Landlord-tenant law mixture of laws made by legislatures (statute law) and laws made from decisions of judges in individual cases over the centuries (case or common law). This site explains the law as it applies to renting residential property in Alberta.
 
Are you a landlord with rental property in Alberta?
The Government of Alberta has a service that allows landlords and tenants to resolve serious disputes outside of court. It is called the
 Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service (RTDRS) 
and it is available in Edmonton, Calgary, and northern Alberta.
