Ending a Fixed-Term TenancyA fixed-term tenancy is a tenancy that lasts for a fixed period of time. You and the tenant will agree on the length of the tenancy period. The tenancy agreement will state the dates between which the tenancy will run. For example, the tenancy might be for six months, for a year, or for five years. In the absence of any alleged fault by a landlord or a tenant, a fixed-term tenancy agreement can only end under the terms of the contract. January 2006 |
