Paying a Security Deposit to a Building Manager

A building manager can act as a landlord. If the tenancy agreement is made between the tenant and the building manager, the law says that the building manager is responsible for the security deposit.

For example, you might own a building and employ Bob as a building manager. Bob completes tenancy agreements and collects the security deposits.

Tenants should have contact information for you in case they suspect your building manager is not acting appropriately.
