Security Deposits

A security deposit is collected at the start of a tenancy on the understanding that it will be returned if the tenant keeps certain conditions. The conditions will depend upon the reason that you ask for a security deposit. Usually the reason will be to make sure that the rented property is returned in good condition.

Most often a security deposit is a sum of money, but it can also be an item of property.
