Learning More about Becoming a Landlord

Both the Calgary Residential Rental Association and the Edmonton Apartment Association offer courses, workshops and educational opportunities to landlords in Alberta.

The Edmonton Apartment Association also sells Landlord Forms (Application, Lease, In and Out Inspections, Notices and Statement of Accounts) which are available to order. Click here to see a list of EAA's forms.
 
Calgary Residential Rental Association also offers forms (Lease, Inspections, Notice to Vacate, ect.). Click here to see a list of their forms and pricing.
 
Your local Landlord and Tenant Advisory Board’s services include providing regular and customized workshops for tenants, owner-investors, landlords, property managers, resident managers and outreach workers. They will also have forms available for purchase.

Continuing education opportunities also exist for people interested in learning more about becoming a landlord or about the legal system as it applies to landlord and tenant law in Alberta. These courses are all created for people without legal training.

The Real Estate Institute of Canada offers educational courses that can be taken individually or as part of a program.
